Funny pictures of Chihuahuas – photos by Gail Marshall

Arlene Marshall and Gail Marshall
Arlene Marshall and Gail Marshall are sisters-in-law and best friends.

Arlene adopted a small black male Chihuahua named Spike. Spike was a macho, five pound little guy who would take on a German Sheppard if the opportunity arose.

Shortly thereafter, Gail bought a white female Chihuahua named Gizzy. Gizzy was a well rounded little lady who was very laid back.

Spike and Gizzy were walked together daily and they became best friends as well.

Arlene had lots of grandchildren to keep her busy but Gail did not have any grandchildren so her dog Gizzy was like her baby. One day after Gail bathed Gizzy she put a doll wig on Gizzy as a joke and she looked so funny she took a picture. The picture reminded Gail of a judge from the 18th Century who wore white wigs.

The OJ Simpson trial was taking place and Gail decided to dress Gizzy as Judge Ito and send Christmas cards with the picture on it. One of the Christmas cards was sent to Judge Ito. He loved it so much he personally responded with a letter.

A pencil and spool of thread were used for her gavel and Gizzy allowed Gail to do anything with her as all she wanted to do was make her master happy. The caption on the card read, “Wishing you a dog gone wonderful howliday and a grrreat New Year.”

For several years Gail sent Christmas cards to friends and relatives with Gizzy’s picture and they were always the topic of conversation.
.
Then Gail and Arlene decided to dress Spike in a costume and see how he would look and react. Maybe he was embarrassed because he was a perfect gentleman.

Afterwords, Arlene and Gail began to make outfits for the two dogs and take pictures. These pictures have provided wonderful lasting memories.

Spike is now nineteen and a bit feeble but hanging in there.

Gizzy passed away a couple of years ago and they miss her oh so much.

Gail adopted two new small dogs and now has three grandchildren to occupy her time. Her new dogs are not as cooperative as Gizzy and Spike were. Arlene stays busy with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren and tending to Spike’s every need in his senior years.

Aw these dogs are absolutely adorable! It’s amazing what pets will do for their owners. I guess these two didn’t mind dressing up, I know for certain other dogs would completely hate it. ;)

Thank you for sharing, it’s an interesting story.

The dogs look adorable, and it never fails to amaze me when pets will allow their owners to dress them up. I had a cat when I was about 4 or 5 years old that let me dress her up in doll clothes and a bonnet and push her around in my doll buggy. People could not believe it! And this was in the summer in Houston!!! Amazing. Now when I feel sorry for animals that are dressed up, I remember Fluffy (a persian) and realize that they may just like it and the attention they get for looking so cute!

They’re all so cute. I especially like the angel one. They all must be so well behaved to pose for these pictures in costume and all!

These two Chihuahuas are top models. They are well dressed in most of the pictures. I like particularly the picture of the “Angel and Devil”, but they are all very funny and well taken. It’s nice the two dogs became such good friends.

It’s funny how artistic the brain can be. The dogs look so adorable , especially the one with sunflowers on it. You almost can recognize it as a dog. It looks so cute! The photographer did a wonderful job too.

Aw, these pictures are humorous yet adorable! My favorite picture/outfit is definitely the one of Judge Ito. I also thought the polka dots picture of the two dogs was amusing. I’m kind of amazed that the dogs were still and were able to be captured at a cute pose in all the pictures. It takes skill, or just a great connection with the animal, to take animal shots.
