If you are someone who works with a computer when it comes to your art here is a valuable list of resources you can use. Maybe you touch up your pieces in Photoshop, or you use Illustrator to make digital works. Whatever the case, I hope some of these resources can be helpful. I’ve also included some quality sites with tutorials for web design, because eventually most of us need resources to learn or look up information on how to make a “home” online.
Tutorial Sites: sites on which you can find step-by-step instructions on how to complete a project in a certain software.
The following are tutorial sites with other resources.
Pixel2Life: one of the internet’s biggest tutorial sites for everything from Photoshop, Flash, and 3D Studio Max, to the Corel line of software. Features more than 50,000 tutorials of all kinds, articles, script & code gallery, hardware reviews, free graphics, and stock photography.
Tutorial9: A popular free tutorial site with well-written tutorials by knowledgeable authors and a great support forum. Includes tutorials for Photoshop, photography, web & blogging, and has other available resources. Also, if you are a complete beginner to Photoshop they have a very helpful School of Photoshop tutorial where you can learn and practice the basics.
PSD Tuts+: A complete Photoshop tutorial site where you can find professional tutorials, articles, freebies, and even videos. For more advanced Photoshop users. Mostly cost-free.
Abduzeedo: An interesting blog by Fabio Sasso, a Brazillian graphic designer. Includes creative PS tutorials by the author and various guest authors, design news, interviews, and wallpapers.
Meet the GIMP: A video tutorial site for users of GIMP (a free image manipulation program much like Photoshop).
Gimp-Tutorials: A GIMP tutorial website that includes everything from icons and buttons to brushes.
VectorTUTS+: Your complete resource site for vector editing software, such as Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape. Here you will find tutorials, articles, freebies, and other resources to help you create the best vector graphics. Most of the content is free.
AudioTUTS+: This is a blog for “musicians, producers and audio junkies.” Find tutorials, videos, articles, and other resources for musicians.
NET Tuts+: A great tutorial site for everything you want to learn about building web sites and coding languages.
w3Schools: An all-free tutorial site for web-building, multimedia, server scripting, browser scripting, XML tutorials, and HTML tutorials. They also include tutorials for beginners.
