All those simple things that we did in our childhood, using only our imagination and simple everyday objects - brought us so much happiness and left us with so many beautiful memories. Too bad we so easily lose that connection as adults and it's then so difficult to reconnect/relearn that magical way of living... :) I feel the same way, Ruth! Skiing down stairs on the bedding? I love it! I do remember the cardboard box houses with bedding for tents. Blankets and sheets strung across and between chairs.
