Here’s the second lesson in How to Paint Flowers series of lessons by Singaporean artist Sri Rajes who is kind enough to share her art tips and tricks with you. You’re more than welcome to try them out and leave the comments, questions, ideas and let us know about the results you achieve while using Sri Rajes’ technique.

Show me how to paint flowers – Lesson #2

    Place ready made canvas on table.
    Press the desired colours on the canvas.
    Do not dilute.
    Put one colour in the centre.
    Put another colour surrounding the colour which is in the centre.
    Initial stage try to use only 2 colours example: Blue Beauty (see image below)
    Use a drinking glass which has a round base at the bottom.
    Press on to paint and lift glass. (This is the trick).
    Keep on repeating until you cover the whole canvas.

This is very simple. I had a teacher one time that used saran wrap plastic sheets she would wad up in her hand and do something like this. I can see that this could be very cool throwing a lot of interesting things into the painting. (as you do with the sand).
