Origami is one of the oldest arts in the world. It has been around for hundreds of years, but only recently has it been developed into a science. And with this new innovation origami has moved from just simple boxes and birds to extremely complex shapes.

To really understand what I mean watch the video below. It has humor and explains origami and the advances that have been made recently very well. After watching it you’ll know how to make origami step by step like the masters. Enjoy!

Now you understand just how the following animals were made. Enjoy the complex origami, and don’t forget to comment!

These pieces are amazing– like it says on the video, modern origami has evolved into a kind of complex sculpture. It is really neat to see not just the shapes evolving, but also the use of color and texture in the paper used, like on the green, shiny beetle. I had no idea how much thought and mathematics actually go into making these works of art!

Incredible! Amazing, I am speechless. I remember reading about origami for my kid’s school assignment but never really knew it could be this good! The insects, bird and monster shown above are really great making me interested enough to view the video. Thanks for sharing this video and hope you post more such informative videos.

Very creative. I am going to watch the video again. Math eludes me. I am glad that I can enjoy what others can.

This is just amazing. I remember trying to create a dragon a couple of years ago but unfortunately I never succeeded. Maybe it’s time for me to give it another try.

This is the first time anyone tried to claim origami was a science. Still, that video was cool. And that origami beetle is just scary. If someone ever makes me origami like that, I’ll probably squash it with a shoe.
