My good friend Catherine Feil brought the Artful Bras Project to my attention a little while ago. Thank you, Catherine!!
Members of Quilters of South Carolina have created one-of-a-kind bras for Breast Cancer Awareness. The exhibit consists of fifty original works of art which are unique, entertaining, humorous, and beautiful to make the public aware of breast cancer, to memorialize those lost to the disease, and to honor survivors.
This exhibit will tour SC until Oct ’09 at which time individual Artful Bras will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to the Best Chance Network, a program that helps women ages 40 to 64 who need to be screened for breast and cervical cancer, but do not have insurance or have insurance that only covers hospital care, and who meet certain income guidelines.
The bras come prepared for display on their own hangers and are available for exhibit across the state of South Carolina. The exhibit is available until October of 2009.
I picked 12 quilted bras for you today to enjoy the creativity of South Carolina quilters and their Artful Bras Project.

Oh my! Now that was really something! I have to tell some of my friends about this. I love the Boobs in Bloom. They are all really great.
Can’t wait to see what you have next… You caught me by surprise this time.
Every time I come to this site, I am always amazed with the sort of things you dig up from all over the net. Congrats. Some pretty cool stuff here. Hopefully they raised a lot of money for their cause.
How cool is that….some of these are real pieces of work. I can actually see myself wearing a few of them….well in the privacy of my home for my hubby
Couple of those are downright “scary”!
These are awesome!!! I love them all…
