Michael Jackson, King of Pop 1958-2009

by Doroteja on June 27, 2009

in Pop Culture

With the death of one of the world’s greatest entertainers of all time also come the memories. Michael Joseph Jackson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, won 13 Grammies, had 13 number one singles, and sold more than 750 million records worldwide over the span of his career. The Guinness Book of World Records named him the “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time.”

Michael Jackson was a true artist and innovator within the music industry, and he will always remain a legend.

Music has been my outlet, my gift to all of the lovers in this world. Through it — my music, I know I will live forever.

I believe that Michael Jackson will never be forgotten. It is so sad that he had to leave us so early in life.

Those are some of the best pictures i have seen of MJ. They are really well drawn, and a fitting tribute to a legend, who changed the world of music.

This is excellent artwork. My favorites are by CarinaT, yamenhazem, and cliford417. I believe these capture the essence of Michael at his various stages in his life. He was so full of talent at such an early age. I was born the same year, so I “grew up” with him.

This is a nice post and a great tribute to an artist. I loved the pictures and was amazed at the emotions captured in the pictures. I have been a big fan of Michael Jackson and his sudden demise has been a rude shock.

All of these are absolutely beautiful, but my favorite is the one by CarinaT. His music influenced so many people and he broke down racial barriers, being the first African American on MTV. Though his death was very sad, hopefully now people can remember him for his influences on music and the beautiful art that he made, rather than accusations made against him.

Beautiful depictions of a beautiful and talented artist. Michael was pure magic. His talent will be imitated but never duplicated. His artistry and charity will always be remembered.

The amazing thing is that you can see with all the links that you posted just how big MJ was.

It’s an amazing thing but I’m going to say that he’s the last person in our lifetime who will have this sort of affect on the world. Seriously, he was a once in a lifetime type talent, and this time when they say that it’s actually true.

We will never see anyone like him again.
